ALL YOU NEED TO KNOW ABOUT JIPMER MBSS 2018 COUNSELLING


Counselling of JIPMER 2018 will be held post the exam result. The first counselling round will be held on June 27, 2018 and the final counselling round on September 28, 2018. Unlike other formalities of the exam, the counselling process will be conducted in an offline mode. It implies the candidates are required to be present physically whilst the seat allotment process and have to complete the formalities like registration, fee submission, seat allotment confirmation and some others. The time to report at the counselling session will be duly mentioned in the call letter that students can download from the official website of JIPMER by entering their login credentials. Remember, only qualified students will be able to download the call letter. Students can check the counselling call letter on the website around the third week of June 2018. 



JIPMER MBBS counselling session serves the purpose of seat allotment to the eligible students. There are 150 seats in Puducherry and 50 MBBS seats in Karaikal campus and students will get the seat as per their merit secured in the exam. However, the number of students will be higher than the seats available.

JIPMER MBBS 2018 - COUNSELLING

Candidates are anyhow required to be physically present there in the counselling session. If they fail to present themselves their candidature will be cancelled by the authority. There are total three counselling sessions and the final session will be conducted in 2018 session of JIPMER MBBS and the candidates will be duly notified about the rounds by means of the official site of JIPMER.

JIPMER MBBS COUNSELLING 2018 - OVERVIEW

JIPMER 2018 counselling session includes five essential steps. The same steps are as follow:

1. Registration

The qualified candidates are required to register themselves to partake in the counselling process and the candidates will be able to register at the counselling venue on the day of counselling.

2. Biometric Fingerprint Verification

This is a security check students have to go through as a step of counselling process. This is to verify that the person appeared for the exam and has arrived for the counselling are just the same.

3. Image and Photo Verification

This is as well a security check to verify the candidate in which the photo of the candidate will be verified for the counselling process.

4. Certificate Verification


The documents the candidates were supposed to and have carried will be verified by the officials in this step.  

5. Counselling

Candidates will now have to attend their personal interview session. In this step, candidates will be called for the personal interview in which they will be asked to choose between Puducherry and Karaikal JIPMER campus. Once the candidate has selected a campus, they will not be provided with another chance to change the decision. Candidates are required to submit the fee on the counselling day itself. 
 
JIPMER MBBS 2018 COUNSELLING – IMPORTANT DOCUMENTS CHECKLIST
Candidates are required to carry some important documents on the counselling day. For your reference, a checklist of required documents is shared below:
  • Character certificate and conduct certificate from the institute head you last studied in. 
  • Transfer Certificate from the institute head you last studied in. 
  • Residence certificate (issued by the revenue authority such as Tahsildar).
  • Community certificate issued by revenue authority (if belong to Backward Classes/ Scheduled Caste/ Scheduled Tribe). 
  • Candidates belong to OBC need to bring a certificate prepared as per the format in the annexure. 
  • Residence Certificate / Employer Certificate as required in the Prospectus (In the case of Puducherry residents). 
  • Hall ticket 
  • Rank Letter 
  • Proof of Date of Birth (Birth Certificate or X Std. Certificate). 
  • Pass Certificate of the qualifying examination. 
  • Statement of marks of the qualifying examination. 
  • Medical Certificate (In case of OPH Candidate). 
  • Six Passport size colour photographs (Recently taken). 
  • NRI candidates are required to carry their NRI certificates with a copy of their English Translation attested by a Gazetted Officer just in case if their certificate is in any other language than English.
